Well Stimulation and Flow Assurance Director
Dr. Ismail Durgut is Naphtho Technical Group Well Stimulation and Flow Assurance Director who has more than 25 years of expertise of numerical modelling and simulation in several fields related oil and gas industry including steady/transient multiphase flow in wellbore, pipelines, flow in porous media, pollutant transport in marine and ground water environment, spreading of oil slicks, environmental impact and risk analysis of oil spills.
Dr. Durgut currently holds the position of Assistant Professor and the Department Head of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey. Before joining the METU in 2013, he has worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate for 2 years in the Department of Petroleum Engineering and Applied Geophysics at Norwegian University of Science and Technology Institute. Following Post-Doctoral, Dr. Durgut worked as Scientist for 2 years for Markland in Norway for developing an innovative pipe-flow measurement method software and its applications. Next, Dr. Durgut has worked as a Senior Research Scientist for 10 years in SINTEF which is one of the Europe’s largest independent research organizations located in Norway.
Dr. Durgut has more than 12 International Peer-Reviewed Papers, 13 International Conference Proceedings. He also supervised 6 MSc. thesis until today.
Dr. Durgut holds Ph.D., MSc. and BSc. degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey.
