Murat AKKOYUNLU

Murat Akkoyunlu is Naphtho Technical Group’s Lead Drilling Advisor and Drilling Engineering Director. Murat with 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry focused on drilling, completion and workover engineering matters for land and subsea wells. He has started his career earlier in Calik Energy then followed by Schlumberger, ENI, Addax Petroleum, Santos, Halliburton, Saudi Aramco and Kuwait Oil Company.

Murat has enormous experience on planning and execution of drilling on exploration HPHT wells, remove existing completions, deepening the wells using pressurized mud cap drilling method, run liner and new monobore completion string, drill barefoot with Coil Tubing, HPHT Wells, (MPD) Managed Pressure Drilling, (PMCD) Pressurized Mud Cap Drilling, Managed Pressure Cementing. Murat has also enormous experience on Jack-Up Operations on Fixed Platforms.

Murat served in different locations such as Middle East countries and Central Africa countries and some of them are Turkmenistan, Algeria, Iraq, Gabon, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc. He is additionally a skilled instructor in complex mechanical well site design and operations, horizontal, extended, reach, and multi-lateral drilling, RILS having facilitated several in-house and professional development courses.

Murat holds several licenses and certifications such as Bosiet, Huet, IWCF Well Control, Well Control WellCAP and is a member of SPE. Murat holds a BSc. degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey.
